Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has extended an olive branch to opposition parties following his victory in the just-concluded governorship election, urging them to set aside political differences and join hands with his administration to move the state forward.
The governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, disclosed in an interview monitored by The News Chronicle, while speaking on the outcome of the election, that Adeleke was now the governor to all residents of the state, regardless of their political affiliations.
Rasheed said the governor and his camp were excited and grateful to God for what he described as a hard-fought victory, adding that the administration had dedicated the victory to God and the people of Osun State.

“Within our camp, we are very excited across board and very grateful to God for His mercy and for winning the war for us. That is why the government has dedicated the victory to God and to the people of Osun State,” he said.
According to him, the administration had also been sending a message of reconciliation to the opposition, stressing that there was no victor or vanquished in the election.

He said Adeleke had declared himself governor of all residents of Osun, including members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress, African Democratic Congress, Accord Party and other political groups.
The spokesperson said Adeleke had already reached out to leaders of opposition parties and called on them to collaborate with his administration the develop the state.
“The governor has raised an olive branch. He has reached out to leaders of the opposition and is calling them to join hands with him to take us to greater heights,” he said.
