Address Rising Banditry, Kidnappings by Providing Employment for Teeming Nigerians- Obasanjo tells Tinubu

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has stated that the rising cases of banditry and kidnappings across the country are caused by the worsening unemployment situation in the nation.

Obasanjo stated this while speaking at a function in Lagos state on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

He emphasized further; “Of course, if we are able to achieve this, it will improve our security. Part of our insecurity are men and women that are not properly engaged. If we are able to give them employment, there will be less of them getting involved in banditry, in kidnapping and in doing various other criminal activities that they get involved in”.
