ADC Flexes Muscle as Nwoye Clinches Key Senate Role

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has hailed Sen. Tony Nwoye’s rise to the position of Senate Minority Whip, declaring it a testament to both his political clout and the party’s expanding footprint on the national stage.

In a statement released Friday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the development signals more than just a personal victory, describing it as a pointer to ADC’s growing relevance in shaping Nigeria’s democratic landscape.

He stressed that the milestone reinforces the party’s determination to deepen democratic ideals while positioning itself as a formidable alternative ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Abdullahi maintained that Nwoye’s elevation did not come by chance, but was earned through resilience, bravery and a steadfast commitment to democratic principles.

According to him, the appointment reflects not only Nwoye’s individual strength but also the rising trust in the ADC as a credible opposition platform capable of driving national rebirth.

“This is coming at a time when Nigeria’s democracy requires strengthening, vigilance and a clear voice for accountability.

“Nwoye’s emergence as senate minority whip underscores the readiness of the ADC to play a more decisive role in advancing legislative responsibility,” he said.

He further noted that the party is not merely gearing up for electoral contests but is equally prepared to take the reins of leadership, offering Nigerians a choice built on integrity, competence and service.

Abdullahi expressed optimism that Nwoye would inject discipline and fairness into his new assignment while making meaningful contributions to legislative business in the National Assembly.
