Adamawa State Governor Imposes 24-Hour Curfew on Lamurde Over Violent Clashes

—

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Lamurde Local Government Area following violent clashes and unrest in some parts of the area.
In a statement released on Friday night, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, said the government considers the violence unacceptable and has ordered security agencies to strictly enforce the curfew.
He warned that anyone caught violating the order would be arrested and prosecuted according to the law.
The curfew takes effect immediately and will remain in place until further notice.
Governor Fintiri urged residents to obey the curfew and cooperate with security personnel to help restore peace and order.
He also advised people to avoid spreading rumors and to share any helpful information with security agencies.
“The government is committed to protecting lives and property and ensuring the safety of all citizens,” the statement added.
