Adamawa Police Tighten Security Ahead of Tinubu’s Project Commissioning Visit

The Adamawa State Police Command has intensified security arrangements ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s scheduled visit on Monday to commission major projects executed by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the command has been placed on high alert to ensure there is no breach of security before, during, and after the presidential visit to Adamawa State.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Dankwambo Morris, convened a strategic meeting with security commanders and senior officers to review and strengthen existing security measures across the state.
Nguroje disclosed that operational assets, including the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, Surveillance Squad, and Crowd and Traffic Control Unit, have been deployed to strategic locations. He added that the teams will conduct both overt and covert surveillance operations.
To sustain public order and safety, security personnel have also been deployed to identify and monitor flashpoints in Yola South and Yola North Local Government Areas.
The police said they are working in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure a smooth and hitch-free visit.
Measures already implemented include enhanced surveillance, confidence-building patrols, traffic management with restricted vehicular movement in some areas, and the deployment of anti-bomb squads to sweep event venues and access roads.
The command urged residents to cooperate with security operatives and report any suspicious activities in their neighbourhoods to the nearest police station.
