Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has extended significant support to the Borno State Government, donating N50 million and six speedboats to assist victims of the recent devastating floods that have impacted communities in the state.

The donation was made during Governor Fintiri’s visit to Maiduguri on Thursday, where he met with his counterpart, Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum.
In his address, Governor Fintiri expressed deep sympathy for the people affected by the floods, lamenting the loss of lives, destruction of homes, and severe damage to property caused by the disaster.
He stressed the need for immediate and continued assistance to help the victims recover and rebuild their lives.
Governor Fintiri made a passionate appeal to both the federal government and other well-meaning individuals and organizations to step up and provide additional aid to the affected communities.
He highlighted the importance of collective efforts in addressing the dire situation, which has displaced many families and caused widespread suffering.
In a show of solidarity and hands-on involvement, Governor Fintiri, alongside Governor Zulum and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, embarked on a boat ride to assess the flood-ravaged areas.

The governors personally visited some of the hardest-hit communities to evaluate the extent of the damage and offer their support to the displaced persons.
Their visit was aimed at not only showing empathy but also gaining a clearer understanding of the immediate needs of those affected.
Governor Fintiri was accompanied by a delegation that included the Secretary to the State Government, Awwal Tukur, members of the Adamawa State Executive Council, and other close associates. Together, they reinforced the message of support and hope for the victims of the disaster.

The donation of speedboats is expected to greatly aid in the ongoing relief efforts, facilitating the transportation of supplies and assisting rescue operations in flood-affected areas.
Governor Fintiri’s gesture has been widely praised as a meaningful contribution to the recovery efforts in Borno State.
Governor Zulum, in response, expressed his gratitude to Governor Fintiri and the people of Adamawa State for their generous donation and show of solidarity during this difficult time.
He reiterated the importance of collaborative efforts between states to tackle such crises and ensure that the affected communities receive the help they urgently need.
