Actress Bimbo Akintola Opens Up About Her Choice to Stay Unmarried

Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola recently shared her heartfelt reasons for remaining single, and her story is both touching and thought-provoking.

At 54 years old, Bimbo revealed that her decision not to marry stems from a deep loss. “He died,” she said, speaking of her one true love.

“I don’t often discuss it, but he’s gone. Finding someone like him took a long time, and now he’s no longer here.”

For Bimbo, marriage isn’t just a societal expectation; it’s a serious commitment that requires honesty and dedication.

“I don’t believe in getting married just for the sake of it,” she explained. “If you can’t be truthful to your vows, why bother? The only person I could envision a forever with is gone.”

Reflecting on her journey, Bimbo acknowledged that while it’s possible to have multiple loves throughout life, finding that special someone takes time.

“I’m at an age where I recognize red flags instantly,” she said. “I refuse to marry just to please others. Who are those people anyway? Should I tie the knot just so the world can say I’ve done it?”

Her perspective is clear; she prioritizes her own truth. “In the end, when you stand before God, it’s just you and Him. No one else will answer for your choices,” she stated. “So, I’m committed to living my life authentically and truthfully.”

Bimbo does believe in marriage, but she insists that she hasn’t found anyone else who could fill the void left by her late love.

“Before I met him, I thought I would never find that kind of connection,” she reflected. “I’ve dated others, but I never envisioned a future with them.”

She remained open to the idea of love, even in her later years. “If I ever meet someone who makes me feel like I can spend forever with them, I would marry—even at 82! But I won’t rush into it without that certainty.”

Understanding the challenges of marriage, Bimbo is not willing to compromise. “Do you know how hard marriage can be? It’s a serious commitment,” she remarked. “Why would I take that step with someone I don’t see a forever with?”

Bimbo Akintola in essence is saying that sometimes, it’s okay to wait for the right person.
