Italian side AC Milan has disclosed the appointment of Paulo Fonseca as the head coach of the Men’s First Team on a three-year contract.
The Portuguese, who was a former defender, played actively from 1991 to 2005, when he hung up his boots to begin his managerial career with Estrela da Amadora’s youth system before taking positions in the lower tiers of Portuguese professional football. He went on to manage top clubs such as FC Porto, Braga, Shakhtar Donetsk, Roma, and Lille, where he was last season before his switch to AC Milan.
The club wished him success as he embarks on his three-year journey:
“The Portuguese coach now joins AC Milan on a three-year contract. The club would like to wish Paulo and his staff a warm welcome.”
