Natasha Marks Third Senate Anniversary With Donation to Schools

—

Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has distributed smart devices, including laptop computers, to selected secondary schools in her constituency as part of activities marking her third anniversary in the Senate.
The distribution exercise took place on Monday, November 2, 2026, during visits to OCSS Oboroke, Adavi Model Secondary School in Adavi Eba, and Community Secondary School, Obangede, all in Kogi State.
The initiative is aimed at promoting digital learning, improving students’ access to educational resources and strengthening digital literacy among young people.
Her media aide, Mike Idoko, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday.
Speaking during the exercise, Akpoti-Uduaghan said the intervention was part of her commitment to quality representation, educational development and youth empowerment.
She explained that representation should go beyond occupying political offices or making speeches at the National Assembly, stressing that elected leaders must deliver meaningful projects that positively affect the lives of their constituents.
According to her, education remains one of the most important investments in the future of society, adding that the smart devices would provide students with opportunities for learning, innovation and personal development.
The senator urged the beneficiaries to make effective use of the devices, embrace digital literacy and remain focused on their academic pursuits.
She also appealed to teachers and school administrators to ensure proper maintenance of the equipment and restrict their use to educational purposes.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, who was elected into the 10th National Assembly, said her constituency interventions cover key sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, youth empowerment and economic development.
She listed some of her efforts to include advocacy for the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Ihima through Senate Bill 521, improved road networks, access to potable water, school facilities, solar power projects, skills acquisition programmes and support for women and young people.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Governing Council of Community Secondary School, Obangede, Dr Shehu Sule, commended the senator for the intervention.
Sule described her as an outstanding representative and an inspiration to young people, particularly girls, while presenting her with an award in recognition of her leadership and contributions to educational development.
