Relationship influencer Blessing Okoro, known as Blessing CEO, posted a video on Instagram on Tuesday, November 3, in which she cries and apologises to the public.
She filmed herself alone in a parked car. She said she went into the car so her mother would not see her in tears, and she described herself as mentally exhausted. “The only thing I see now is darkness,” she said. She said she regrets speaking about other people’s pain without understanding it.

In the video, she also spoke about her son, Brian, who was nine. He died of an asthma attack while she was in custody at Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos. She told him she was sorry she was not there. “You shattered my heart to bury my own child,” she said.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had charged Blessing CEO in June. A court remanded her at Kirikiri after she could not meet bail conditions. She faces a N36 million fraud case at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, where she is charged with obtaining money by false pretence and stealing. She also faces a N69.15 million property fraud case at a Lagos Special Offences Court. That court granted her N20 million bail in July, with two sureties, and she pleaded not guilty. She was released from Kirikiri on October 24.
About an hour after her video, her partner, IVD, posted a written apology on Instagram. He addressed his family, friends and business partners. “It’s been 5 Years Of Endless Battle,” he wrote, and he asked God and the people he had hurt for forgiveness.

Earlier this year, Blessing CEO asked the public for money to treat stage 4 breast cancer. In April, the Nigerian Medical Association, Delta State branch, said the test result she shared belonged to another patient, Mbara Deborah. However, Blessing CEO denied forging medical documents.
