Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has said he is supporting the Labour Party’s presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Otti made this known during an interview with ARISE News, which was monitored by The News Chronicle on Friday.
The governor said he had a presidential candidate whom he was expected to support, while acknowledging President Bola Tinubu’s right to seek re-election.
“I have a presidential candidate and it is expected that I support my candidate,” Otti said.
He said Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, had the constitutional right to contest the 2027 election, adding that there was no reason for him to oppose the President’s re-election bid.

“He (Tinubu) has the right to run and nobody can stop him. But I’m in the Labour Party and for now, he has my support,” he said.
The News Chronicle reports that Dr Sunday Chibuzo Okereke is the Labour Party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
