I wrote it from the understanding that we can’t just pick and choose life to feature only the quiet, beautiful moments—the soft dawns, the golden laughter so bright and blue.
Instead of despising life’s difficult, unpleasant, and bad moments when/if it comes, I intended to remind us to honor those moments, look straight (gaze) into them, and see them as an aspect of the human experience that is a necessary part of growth.
True growth comes from turning scars to gold, falling and learning from the experience, and then coming back stronger.
Life isn’t a bed of roses; the good, the bad, and the ugly are all parts of it, and we’ve got to acknowledge them.
Cheers to the good, bad, and ugly!
