President Bola Tinubu has celebrated his wife, Oluremi, on her 66th birthday, describing her as his truest friend and confidante who has stood by him through difficult times.
In a heartfelt birthday message issued on Monday, Tinubu praised Oluremi for her patience, courage, faith and unwavering support throughout their years together.
He said the former Lagos State First Lady and current First Lady of Nigeria had given true meaning to the Yoruba saying, “Ìyàwó rere ni adé ọkọ rẹ̀” — meaning a good wife is her husband’s crown.
Tinubu also cited the biblical Book of Proverbs in praising his wife’s virtues, saying she had remained a constant source of strength and counsel through every season of their lives.
“You have stood by my side through every season,” the President said.
He said the burdens he was expected to carry often found their way onto Oluremi’s shoulders, while she was able to understand thoughts he could not always express in words.
According to him, during difficult periods when the future appeared uncertain, Oluremi remained calm, prayed with him and offered the counsel he needed.
“Through all these years, you have remained the one who truly understands me,” Tinubu said.

The President described Oluremi as someone who would tell him the truth even when he would rather not hear it, adding that her honesty was one of the qualities he cherished most about her.
He also praised her commitment to their family, saying their children and grandchildren had grown under the influence of her prayers, faith and values.
Tinubu further highlighted Oluremi’s humanitarian activities, noting that Nigerians knew her for her compassion, kindness, generosity and steadfast faith.
He recalled her work through the New Era Foundation during their years in Lagos and the Renewed Hope Initiative, saying her interventions had touched the lives of young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers across the country.
The President also commended her advocacy for people affected by tuberculosis and other diseases, describing her as a compassionate advocate and determined champion for those in need.
He said her compassion had never been limited by tribe, region or religion.
“I know the prayers you offer for people whose names you may never know. I also know many whom you have helped without ever meeting them,” Tinubu said.
Reflecting on their years together, the President said their journey had been marked by difficult decisions, sacrifices, laughter and prayer.
He said that if he had the opportunity to begin life again, he would still choose the same path that led him to Oluremi.
“If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you,” Tinubu said.
“Through every mile, my heart has always remained at home with you.”
Tinubu thanked his wife for the life they had built together and prayed that she would enjoy many more years in good health and happiness.
“May the years ahead bring you the same comfort and happiness you have so freely given to me and many others,” he added.
