Professor of Political Science and International Relations at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Prof. Jideofor Adibe, has described the “rainbow coalition” proposed by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, as a strategy driven more by self-preservation than political principle.
Adibe said the current political dynamics point to the dominance of individuals rather than party supremacy, warning that Wike may have overstepped established “laws of power.”
“What we are seeing is not party supremacy but supremacy of one man. There are laws of power that nobody should violate. Nyesom Wike has violated the laws of power with impunity.”
Speaking on Channels Television’s Hard Copy monitored by The News Chronicle, the university don said Wike had cultivated a persona as a politician capable of delivering electoral results.
He, however, warned that if APC governors feel their capacity to deliver victory for President Bola Tinubu in 2027 is being underestimated, it could have implications for the President’s electoral prospects.
