French President Macron Hosts Tinubu to Private Dinner at Élysée Palace in Paris

French President Emmanuel Macron hosted Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to a private dinner at the Élysée Palace in Paris on Thursday night.
The meeting was disclosed on Friday by Dada Olusegun, Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Social Media, in a post on X.
“French President @EmmanuelMacron hosted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a private dinner last night at the Élysée Palace,” Olusegun wrote.
Tinubu arrived in Paris earlier as part of his three-week leave in Europe. Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke, received the President upon his arrival.
The President departed Abuja on Sunday, August 30, 2026, for the vacation, with London as his first destination before proceeding to Paris.
According to a statement previously issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja after the holiday.
The statement, titled “President Tinubu Begins Three-Week Leave,” said the President would resume his official activities in Nigeria after the vacation, including participation in preparations for the January 2027 general election
