The Niger State Police Command has rescued two abducted victims and neutralised three suspected kidnappers during a gun battle in New-Bussa.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Minna.
Abiodun said that at about 7:30 pm on September 10, the New-Bussa Area Command received a report from Wako village that suspected armed men had abducted two residents and were demanding a ransom.

He said following the report, the surveillance team attached to the area command launched an investigation and mobilised alongside vigilantes to Wawa Forest to rescue the victims.
According to him, the team intercepted the suspected kidnappers in the forest, leading to a gun duel between the operatives and the hoodlums.
