Bomb Explodes Under Military Vehicle During Patrol in Imo

An improvised explosive device (IED) detonated under a military vehicle during a routine patrol along the Ihite Ukwa–Health Centre axis in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.
The incident occurred at about 6:50 a.m. on Friday, September 4, according to security sources cited by counter-insurgency publication..
The report said troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade were conducting a routine patrol when the military vehicle triggered the explosive device.
The blast damaged the front-right fender of the Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected (MRAP) vehicle, but no casualty was recorded.
Following the incident, troops reportedly continued security operations in the area while efforts are ongoing to prevent further attacks and ensure the safety of personnel and commuters along the route.
The incident highlights the continued security challenges faced by military personnel operating in parts of Imo State, particularly along routes vulnerable to explosive attacks
