Social critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has challenged the Nigeria Police Force to charge him to court, insisting that he is ready to present evidence backing his controversial claims that some police officers aid kidnappers in carrying out their criminal activities.
VDM made the allegations while speaking at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday, August 27.
Following the remarks, the police invited him to come forward and substantiate his claims.
Reacting to the invitation, VDM said he would only present his evidence in court, urging the police to institute legal proceedings against him.
In a post on social media, he wrote: “To the Nigerian Police, I SAID WHAT I SAID. You will get your evidence when I am charged to court. I repeat, THE POLICE ARE THE UNKNOWN GUNMEN and they aid kidnappings and the military are also the unknown gunmen.”
He added: “CHARGE ME TO COURT, YOU WILL GET THE EVIDENCE THERE.”
The remarks have further intensified the controversy surrounding his allegations, as the social critic maintains that he is prepared to defend his claims before a court of law.
