Nigerian singers Wande Coal and Davido have clashed on social media over their unreleased collaboration, “Come My Way.”
The disagreement followed comments by Davido during a recent podcast interview, which he later shared on his Instagram Story.
Davido, the “I Know Who I Be” crooner, said the collaboration was shelved after he disagreed with Wande Coal over plans for the song’s release.
According to him, Wande Coal initially approached him to feature on the track, prompting him to record a verse.
He, however, said their relationship became strained when Wande Coal proposed releasing the original version first, then using Davido’s contribution for a remix.
Davido explained that he did not record his verse with the intention of having it used on a remix, adding that the disagreement over the proposed release arrangement ultimately stalled the collaboration.
Wande Coal, however, disputed Davido’s account in a post on X, insisting that “Come My Way” already had a release plan and date before the disagreement.
He wrote: “Carry song come give you as how? Song wey been get release plan and date!!! Song wey no be your own you wan dictate release plan.”
Wande Coal also dismissed suggestions that the song’s performance depended on Davido’s contribution, saying it performed well without the collaboration.
“That song fkin did well without you on it bruv!!!” he wrote.
