Eight Killed as Boko Haram Terrorists Attack Adamawa Community

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have attacked Gaya community in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, killing a police inspector and seven civilians.
The attack occurred on Monday night when the assailants invaded the community, set two houses ablaze and killed eight people, according to the Chairman of Hong Local Government Area, Aliyu Sa’ad.
“The attackers came on the night of Monday and launched a bloody attack on two houses, burnt the houses and killed one police officer and seven civilians during the attack,” he said.
The Adamawa State Police Command also confirmed the attack.

The command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, said five bodies, including those of four civilians and a police inspector, had been recovered as of Tuesday, while security agencies continued efforts to establish the full details of the incident.
“The report we received from the area is that on Monday night, dead bodies of five people were recovered, four civilians and an inspector of police, after the attackers left,” Nguroje said.
He added that troops, police, vigilantes, hunters and other security personnel had been deployed to hunt for the attackers.
The police spokesperson said the command would provide further information as investigations and security operations progressed.
The latest incident adds to the growing security challenges in Hong Local Government Area, which has experienced repeated attacks linked to insurgency in recent months.
Security agencies are currently working to track down those responsible for the attack and restore calm to the affected community.
