INTERPOL Abuja Arrests, Returns Chadian Murder Suspect to Chad

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested and repatriated a Chadian national, Mahadijiria Abdoulaye, who was wanted by authorities in N’Djamena, Chad, in connection with a murder case.
The suspect was arrested by operatives of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja, on August 5, 2026, at Railway Quarters in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, following coordinated intelligence operations.
According to the police, Abdoulaye was wanted over the alleged torture and murder of Nazik Mahamat Saleh on May 3, 2026.
The police said an international warrant of arrest was issued by the Court of Appeal, N’Djamena, on June 22, 2026, for Abdoulaye and her alleged accomplice, Fatime Senoussi Mouktar, in connection with the case.
Abdoulaye was also reportedly linked to narcotics trafficking activities in Chad before fleeing to Nigeria following the incident.
The Nigeria Police Force said the suspect was successfully repatriated to N’Djamena on August 14, 2026, through Lomé, Togo, under established bilateral police cooperation arrangements.
The operation was carried out by INTERPOL NCB Abuja in collaboration with INTERPOL NCB N’Djamena to facilitate the suspect’s return to Chad to face the judicial process.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, commended the operatives of INTERPOL NCB Abuja for their professionalism, diligence and effective coordination with their Chadian counterparts.
Disu said the successful arrest and repatriation demonstrated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to ensuring that fugitives do not evade justice by crossing international borders.
The police further reaffirmed its commitment to using international policing channels and partnerships to track fugitives, disrupt trans-border criminal networks and prevent persons wanted for serious offences from finding safe haven in Nigeria.
