At least seven worshippers have been killed and several others abducted following a bandit attack on Tsamaye village in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The attack occurred shortly after the Isha’i prayer on Tuesday night when armed bandits reportedly invaded a mosque and opened fire on worshippers, killing seven people on the spot.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers later surrounded the village for several hours, moving from house to house while abducting residents, stealing livestock, and looting valuables.
The assailants reportedly left the community at about 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday after carrying out the coordinated attack.
The exact number of abducted residents has yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, the Sokoto State Police Command said it is aware of the incident and is gathering full details as efforts continue to assess the extent of the attack.
