Several Feared Dead in Kaduna Miners’ Clash as BEPU Pushes for Justice

The Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressives Union (BEPU) has called for a thorough and transparent investigation into the deadly clash involving suspected illegal miners in Randagi community, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The call follows reports by BBC Hausa that several people were feared killed in the violence, although the exact number of casualties had not been officially confirmed as of the time of filing this report.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr Isah Muhammad, the union expressed deep sadness over the incident and extended its condolences to the people of Randagi and the families of those who reportedly lost loved ones. It also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.

BEPU urged security agencies and other relevant authorities to carry out a comprehensive investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the violence and ensure that those responsible are identified and brought to justice.

The union stressed that a transparent investigation and accountability are essential to delivering justice for the victims, restoring public confidence, and preventing similar incidents from occurring in the future.
