Innocent Nigerians Paying With Their Lives as Terrorists Gain Ground – AC Chieftain

Former Accord Party presidential candidate, Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently restructure Nigeria’s security architecture following the recent wave of deadly attacks across several states.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Olawepo-Hashim described the country’s security situation as a national emergency, saying Nigeria is effectively at war but lacks a clear and coordinated strategy to defeat terrorist groups and restore peace.
He condemned the recent killings in Kaduna, Zamfara and Plateau states, as well as the abduction of several residents in Kebbi State, including a High Court judge.
According to him, the worsening insecurity demands immediate action from the Federal Government, urging a comprehensive review of the nation’s security framework to enable security agencies to tackle emerging threats more effectively.
Olawepo-Hashim said the government must adopt a proactive security strategy focused on preventing attacks rather than responding after lives and property have already been lost.
He also called for a decisive and coordinated offensive against terrorist groups, warning that criminal elements continue to operate with increasing confidence while Nigerians remain vulnerable to repeated attacks.
“Every day, terrorists retain the initiative while innocent Nigerians pay with their lives. The time has come to stop managing insecurity and start a real offensive aimed at winning the war,” he said.
