The Wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dr. Claudia Sanwo-Olu, alongside the Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof-Oloyede, has officially flagged off the 2026 Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health and Nutrition (MNCAH+N) Week in Oshodi-Isolo.
According to a statement issued by the council on Wednesday, the flag-off ceremony was held on Monday at the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Secretariat.
Represented by Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat, Dr. Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare services for women, children and adolescents across the state.
The week-long programme offers a range of free healthcare services, including treatment for childhood malnutrition, deworming, routine immunisation, nutritional support, antenatal care, health education and other life-saving interventions for residents.
Speaking at the event, Otunba Almaroof-Oloyede described the initiative as a strategic investment in the health and future of the community, stressing that sustainable development can only be achieved by prioritising the well-being of mothers and children.
He also reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing accessible, affordable and quality healthcare, urging residents of Oshodi-Isolo to take full advantage of the free medical services available throughout the week.
The ceremony was attended by traditional rulers, permanent secretaries, councillors, members of the executive council, development partners, the local government management team and residents.
