Tinubu Reshuffles Key Agencies, Appoints Fayose, Bindawa, 24 Others

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 officials to the boards and leadership of 10 federal agencies and commissions, naming former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

The appointments, announced on Monday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, also saw Major General Junaid Bindawa named Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.

Fayose will lead the REA board alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, who were appointed as non-executive directors. The agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and its three serving executive directors will complete the board.

At the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, Tinubu appointed former Lagos lawmaker Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas as Secretary, alongside eight other members. They include Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian (Benue), Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo), Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna), Dr Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo), and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi).

Engineer Julius Oloro was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), replacing Dr A.R. Kamal, who died in January.

Tinubu also inaugurated the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, appointing Dr Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman. Other members are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.

Also appointed was Shuni Muhammad Dahiru as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF) in April.

To fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Mathias Byuan as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority, Tinubu appointed economist and legal scholar Gisaor Vincent Iorja, who currently serves as Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).

According to the Presidency, all the appointments take immediate effect.
