JUST IN: Court Orders Arrest of Alleged PFIPC DG Over Fraud, Forgery Charges

The Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), after he failed to appear for his arraignment on charges of forgery, fraud, and impersonation.

Adeyemi was scheduled to appear before Justice Mohammed Umar on Tuesday in connection with an eight-count charge filed under suit number FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025. However, the case could not proceed after he was absent when it was called.

Following his absence, the prosecution, representing the Inspector-General of Police, applied for a bench warrant, which the court granted, directing law enforcement agencies to arrest him and produce him before the court.

The charges, filed on November 27, 2025, by police prosecutor Wisdom Madaki, also involve two other defendants.

The prosecution alleges that they engaged in forgery, fraud and impersonation through the activities of the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.

Among the prosecution witnesses listed for the trial are the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Paul Emmanuel; Jeremiah Imoukhede; Ituah Sylvester; officials from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Akimbo Shola and Adamu Balongu; as well as a Deputy Superintendent of Police.
