First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu has urged Nigerians to take advantage of low-cost businesses, saying starting small does not require large capital and government support has been provided as grants, not loans.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen, Mrs. Tinubu highlighted everyday ventures that citizens can begin with minimal resources.
“To start Akara business doesn’t take a lot of money. To start roasting corn and kuli-kuli doesn’t take much,” she said.
The First Lady also addressed concerns over the nature of government assistance to beneficiaries of empowerment programmes.
“We didn’t give them a loan, we gave them a grant. We have encouraged Nigerians as best as we could,” she added.
Her comments come as the administration atte to continue to push micro-enterprise support as part of broader efforts to create jobs, reduce poverty, and ease financial pressure on vulnerable Nigerians seeking to start or grow small businesses.
