Social media influencer and self-acclaimed relationship therapist Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged fraud of ₦69.15 million.
She appeared before Justice R.A. Oshodi of the Lagos State Special Offenses Court in Ikeja on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, on a two-count charge of obtaining money by false pretense and stealing.
The EFCC alleges that Blessing CEO obtained ₦69,150,000 from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited by falsely claiming ownership of a property located at No. 1 Tunbosun Osobu Street, Lekki, Lagos, which she allegedly leased to the company for a period of five years.
The first charge states:
“That you, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, on or about March 21, 2025, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, by false pretence and with intent to defraud, induced Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited to confer a benefit of ₦69,150,000 on you under the representation that the property located at No. 1 Tunbosun Osobu Street, Lekki, belonged to you and was leased to the company for a period of five years, a representation you knew to be false.”
The second charge alleges that she dishonestly converted the ₦69.15 million, described as the property of Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited, for her personal use.
Blessing CEO pleaded not guilty to both charges.
During the proceedings, EFCC counsel C.C. Okezie asked the court to proceed with the arraignment, arguing that the defendant had been properly served with the charges. Defense counsel Nkama Nneka contended that the service had only recently been effected.
After considering both submissions, Justice Oshodi ruled that the arraignment should proceed in accordance with the law.
Following the plea, the prosecution requested a trial date and asked the court to remand the defendant in EFCC custody pending her scheduled arraignment before the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, on June 10, 2026, in another alleged fraud case.
Justice Oshodi granted the request and adjourned the matter until July 16, 2026, for the hearing of her bail application and the commencement of trial.
Earlier on the same day, Justice Dipeolu of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi granted Blessing CEO ₦10 million bail in a separate alleged ₦36 million rental fraud case.
The court ordered her to provide two sureties in like sum, with one required to be a family member. The sureties must also submit proof of employment, Bank Verification Number (BVN), National Identification Number (NIN), valid phone numbers, international passports, tax clearance certificates for the last two years, and six passport photographs.
She denies the allegations and remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty by the court.
