Adelabu’s Sister, 12-Year-Old Twins Freed as Police Neutralise Two Kidnappers

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, along with her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, days after they were abducted in Oyo State.

The rescue operation, which followed intensive intelligence gathering and tactical surveillance, resulted in a fierce gun battle between police operatives and the kidnappers. Two suspected abductors were neutralised during the exchange, while two firearms were recovered from the gang.

The victims were kidnapped at about 7:30 a.m. on June 3, 2026, while Mrs. John-Paul was taking her sons to school.

Police sources disclosed that sustained intelligence tracking and relentless pressure mounted on the criminal network forced the kidnappers into a confrontation with security operatives, ultimately leading to the successful rescue of all three victims.

The victims were rescued unharmed, marking a major breakthrough in the police operation against kidnapping activities in the area.
