2027: Soludo’s Daughter leads Voter Education drive, urges Students to obtain PVCs

Young people in tertiary institutions across Nigeria have been advised to be conscious of their responsibility in shaping their future by participating actively in the nation’s electoral process.
The Anambra State Woman Leader, City Boy Movement, Ms Adaora Soludo gave the advice during an event held at the ASUU Secretariat of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, to mark the 2026 World Menstrual Hygiene Day.
According to Ms Soludo, young people have a major role to play in shaping the future of the society, reminding young people that their participation in the electoral process starts registering to get their Permanent Voter’s Cards, PVCs.
“If you are 18 years and above, I encourage you to register and obtain your Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC). Your vote is your voice, and your voice is your power.
“Do not sit back and allow others to make decisions for your future while you remain silent. Be responsible, informed, and actively involved in nation-building,” she advised.
The Anambra City Boy Movement Woman Leader urged young women never to underestimate yourselves, stressing the need for them to pursue their dreams with self-belief, and dedication.
“You are strong, intelligent, gifted, and capable of greatness. The society needs your ideas, your leadership, and your contributions. Continue to believe in yourselves and pursue your dreams with confidence,” Ms Soludo admonished young girls.
On the World Menstrual Hygiene Day celebration, Ms Soludo noted that menstruation is a natural part of womanhood, that should not be seen as a thing of shame or embarrassment. She advised that the society must continue to educate, encourage, and support women and girls so they can live healthy, confident, and productive lives, noting that menstrual hygiene is not only about using sanitary pads, but also about cleanliness, self-care, confidence, and proper health education.
During the ceremony, Ms Soludo, through her foundation, Gloria Foundation, also distributed thousands of sanitary pads to young girls in the university.
Earlier, the State Coordinator, City Boys Movement, Nonso Ozoemena, represented by Dr Onyeka Ebenebe recognized the huge investment made by the governor’s daughter, through her foundation towards improving the reproductive health of the university students, describing it as laudable.
He emphasized the need for the male folk to also join the advocacy for the promotion of women’s reproductive health rights.
In her remarks, the State Deputy Woman leader of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Amaka Obi also commended the initiative to support and empower young university girls with the right knowledge to take charge of their health.
