Nigerian billionaire businessman and socialite Obi Cubana has reportedly taken down all Instagram posts linked to the City Boy Movement amid growing public backlash over his political alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Obi Cubana, who was appointed South-East Coordinator of the pro-Tinubu group, has faced criticism from some Nigerians for his open support for the government.
As of the time of filing this report, he has not released any official statement explaining the decision.
The City Boy Movement is a youth-focused political advocacy and civic engagement platform aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. It promotes grassroots mobilization, youth empowerment, and efforts to strengthen engagement between government and local communities, The News Chronicle observed.
The group has previously organized campus tours, outreach campaigns, and relief initiatives, including the distribution of cash grants and essential supplies to vulnerable households across Nigeria.
