A tragic road accident has claimed the lives of three people in Gombe after a heavy-duty trailer reportedly lost control due to brake failure at Mile 3 Sabuwa area of the state capital.
The incident occurred when the trailer, which was travelling from Taraba State, reportedly lost its brakes while entering the Mile 3 Sabuwa axis in Gombe.
According to eyewitness accounts, the driver attempted to avoid a major disaster by diverting the vehicle from its path.
However, the truck rammed into several vehicles, shops, and people around the area.
It was gathered that seven persons were crushed in the accident, with three victims confirmed dead on the spot, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Residents and passersby were seen making frantic efforts to rescue victims and recover damaged goods destroyed during the crash.
