BREAKING: Gunmen Kill 13, Including Three Pregnant Women, in Fresh Plateau Night Attack

No fewer than 13 persons, including three pregnant women, have been killed after gunmen launched a deadly midnight attack on Ngbra Zongo community in Kwall District of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State.

The News Chronicle gathered that the attackers reportedly stormed the community in the early hours of Friday, moving from house to house and attacking residents in a coordinated assault that left several others injured and forced many families to flee into nearby bushes for safety.

Confirming the incident, the community leader Lawrence Zongo described the killings as tragic and heartbreaking, revealing that three of the victims were pregnant women.

He lamented that the same community had suffered similar violence in the past, including an earlier attack that claimed the life of a pastor and several residents.

“They moved from one house to another attacking innocent people,” Zongo said, adding that many victims sustained varying degrees of injuries during the raid.

As fear and tension spread across the area, residents were said to have abandoned their homes to escape further bloodshed.

As of press  time, efforts to get an official response from the spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, SP Alfred Alabo, were unsuccessful.
