A key ally of Rabiu Kwankwaso, Buba Galadima has revealed that Kwankwaso and Peter Obi will unveil a new political platform on Monday, signaling a potentially major shift in Nigeria’s opposition landscape.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting of the Obi-Kwankwaso (OK) Movement in Abuja, Galadima said the long-anticipated decision would be made public within days, while warning supporters to brace for a wave of attacks once the announcement is made.
“From Monday, when our leaders declare the platform they will run on, two things will happen. They will sponsor columnists, and they will deploy social media influencers to attack our candidates.” He noted.
He urged supporters, particularly those active online and in the media, to be ready to counter any criticism swiftly and forcefully.
“Those with the mighty pen and those on social media must be prepared to respond. Whatever they say about our leaders, whom we know to be people of integrity and honour, we must reply with the full force of intellect,” Galadima declared.
Drawing a combative analogy, he likened the anticipated political backlash to global conflicts, urging restraint until provoked, but promising a fierce response thereafter.
“Don’t call anyone names until they attack our leaders. But when they do, we will respond with the greatest might of intellect. They may think they’re starting a war from their comfort zones, we will be ready, ” he said.
Galadima’s remarks underscore rising political tension ahead of the 2027 race, as realignments talks continue to reshape the opposition field.
