Ombugadu Abruptly Dumps APC Weeks After Defection, Alleges Plot Against Ambition

Days after joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. David Emmanuel Ombugadu has resigned from the ruling party, marking a swift reversal in his political alignment.

David Emmanuel Ombugadu, a former governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, confirmed his resignation on Tuesday.

The development follows concerns raised by a group alleging attempts to undermine his governorship ambition.

The group also accused the APC of irregularities in its recent electronic membership registration exercise, claiming it was manipulated to favour a preferred aspirant ahead of the 2027 governorship race and the succession of Governor Abdullahi Sule, The News Chronicle gathered.

Ombugadu had recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after leaving the PDP, citing the party’s prolonged internal leadership crisis as a key reason for his departure.
