Gospel Singer Judikay Welcomes Baby Girl Shekinah After Six Pregnancy Losses

Nigerian gospel singer Judikay on Friday morning, shared joyful news with her fans, announcing the birth of her second child.

The international worship artist revealed that she welcomed a baby girl on Saturday, March 14, 2026, and shared the news via her Instagram page. The child has been named Shekinah Umechukwu Opara.

In her post, she expressed gratitude and excitement, writing:
“On the 14th of March 2026, we welcomed our second baby: Shekinah Umechukwu Opara; The Breath and Manifest Glory of the Lord. She is God’s literal love gift to us… Have you seen the Lord fail? …Jesus has the final (scratch that) ONLY say. We are raising this praise RIWÒTITÒ HALLELUYAH so loud! All Glory to Jesus.”

Before this announcement, Judikay had opened up about a painful experience of six miscarriages, including one in February 2025.

Speaking in an Instagram video, she described the emotional and physical toll of the loss, saying:
“In February 2025, I experienced a pain that almost crushed me. I was pregnant for well over three months. What I thought should be urine was blood. It did not stop. I was devastated because I understood what that meant automatically. This baby that I lost… marked the sixth one.”

She also spoke about her grief after undergoing a medical procedure, adding:
“When I returned home… in the silence of the night, I would experience a pain that I could not express. I would wail and cry and say, ‘Jesus, where are you?’”

Judikay and her husband Anselem Opara, whom she wedded in 2020, welcomed their first child, a baby boy, Joshua Ikechukwu Opara on March 22, 2022.

Judikay, whose real name is Judith Kanayo-Opara, is a Nigerian gospel singer known for songs such as “More Than Gold”, Have You Seen, and “Songs of Angels (Ndimozi Binigwe)”.
