No fewer than five persons have been confirmed dead, while 20 others sustained varying degrees of injuries in a tragic road accident along the Lapai–Agaie Road in Niger State.
The fatal crash occurred in the early hours of Monday at Nami village in Agaie Local Government Area.
The accident involved a trailer reportedly transporting about 600 bags of soybeans along with passengers travelling from Kano to Lagos.

Eyewitnesses said the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle before it veered off the road and crashed, resulting in multiple casualties.
Confirming the incident to Newsmen, Mr. Umar of the Agaie Local Government Social Welfare Department said the injured victims were rushed to the General Hospital, Lapai, where they are currently receiving treatment.
He added that many of the survivors sustained serious injuries and have been unable to contact their families, as most of them do not have mobile phones or any means of communication.
According to him, a significant number of the victims are from Kano and Borno State, while one of the deceased is reportedly from the Niger Republic.
