Kano Emir, Muhammadu Sanusi II, Returns to School as 200-Level Law Student

The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has returned to the classroom, enrolling as a 200-level law student at Northwest University, Kano.

Photos shared online on Tuesday, Jan. 20, show the monarch attending lectures alongside other undergraduates, marking a new chapter in his academic journey.

Sanusi was granted special admission into the university’s Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme, covering both Common and Sharia Law, in recognition of his extensive experience in governance, economics, and public service.

A former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and a PhD holder, the Emir’s return to formal education has sparked widespread interest and admiration across the country.
