Beyoncé Becomes a Billionaire, Joining Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Rihanna

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has officially become a billionaire, according to Forbes, placing her among a very small group of musicians whose careers have generated personal wealth exceeding one billion dollars.

The recognition follows the success of her 2024 album Cowboy Carter and its accompanying 2025 tour, which became the highest-grossing country tour in history. Data from Pollstar and Forbes estimate that the tour earned more than $400 million in ticket sales and approximately $50 million in merchandise revenue.

In its December 29, 2025 report, Forbes stated that Beyoncé earned an estimated $148 million before taxes in 2025, making her one of the highest-paid musicians globally for the year. The publication identified the tour’s financial performance as the key factor that pushed her net worth beyond the billion-dollar mark.

Beyoncé, 44, becomes the fifth musician confirmed by Forbes to reach billionaire status. She joins Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Bruce Springsteen.

Her wealth has been built over nearly three decades, beginning with her rise to fame in the late 1990s as a member of Destiny’s Child and continuing through her solo career. A major factor in her financial growth has been her decision to maintain ownership and control of her music catalog, publishing rights, and production operations through her company, Parkwood Entertainment, founded in 2010.

Touring has remained the primary source of her income. Industry analysts cited by Forbes note that for top-tier artists, live performances often account for more than 75 percent of annual earnings, due to ticket sales, merchandising, and related productions.

In addition to music, Beyoncé has expanded into select business ventures, including a haircare brand, Cécred, and a whiskey label, SirDavis, though Forbes reports that the majority of her wealth still comes directly from music-related activities rather than consumer products.

The other billionaire musicians reached billionaire status through different combinations of music and business interests. Jay-Z, widely regarded as the first hip-hop billionaire, built his fortune through his music catalog, entertainment company Roc Nation, and investments in beverages and technology. Taylor Swift’s estimated $1.6 billion net worth is largely tied to global touring, streaming income, and ownership of her recordings. Rihanna’s wealth is driven primarily by Fenty Beauty, alongside her music career. Bruce Springsteen’s fortune stems from decades of touring and the long-term value of his music catalog.

Beyoncé’s inclusion reflects broader changes in the music industry, where financial success increasingly depends on ownership, touring scale, and direct control over creative and business decisions.

“No amount of money is worth my peace,” Beyoncé said in an interview cited by Forbes, explaining her approach to balancing work, family, and long-term career planning.
