The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Works, has launched a nationwide audit of 760 federal road projects valued at over N36 trillion.
The Special Tracking Exercise, which began on November 14, 2025, deploys teams of ICPC investigators, Ministry engineers, and independent professionals from bodies including the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) across all 36 states and the FCT.
The audit aims to enhance fiscal governance, enforce contractor accountability, strengthen procurement integrity, and recover public funds tied to underperforming or inflated projects.
Field assessments will inform a national report highlighting compliance levels and irregularities, forming the basis for enforcement actions.
“This exercise represents a proactive, system-driven approach to safeguarding our national infrastructure investments,” the ICPC said.
The ICPC reaffirms its commitment to this collaborative governance effort, aimed at fortifying the integrity of Nigeria’s public procurement and project execution framework.
