JUST IN: Christopher Musa Confirmed Defence Minister, Pledges Tough Action on Terror

Former Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa has been confirmed as Nigeria’s new Minister of Defence.

During his Senate screening on Wednesday, the former Chief of Defence Staff pledged to investigate critical security lapses, including the withdrawal of troops before the abduction of 25 schoolgirls at Government Comprehensive Girls Secondary School, Maga, in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area on November 17.

General Musa also vowed to probe the killing of Brigadier General Musa Uba and condemned the recent abduction and murder of a brigade commander in Borno State by terrorists.

“It is very unfortunate and really painful,” Musa told lawmakers. “I want to assure Nigerians that we will not stand by while terrorists act with impunity. We will pursue them fully, working closely with all security agencies and government departments.”

The retired Army General emphasized that no act of insolence or cowardice within the Armed Forces would be tolerated. He pledged strict professionalism and strengthened oversight to ensure prompt, decisive military action in future crises.
