The Chairman of Austria’s Committee on NATO Enlargement has called for urgent international military intervention in Nigeria, following the circulation of a harrowing video showing Christians being brutally attacked during a church program in Kwara State.
In the video, which has gone viral on social media, worshippers are seen fleeing in terror as assailants unleash violence in what observers are describing as a targeted religious attack.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage both within Nigeria and across the global Christian community.
The Austrian official, whose remarks have drawn intense attention in diplomatic circles, decried Nigerian government’ failures to provide adequate protection to vulnerable communities, warning that continued inaction could escalate the country’s security crisis.
The call comes amid growing criticism of Nigeria’s security apparatus, which has faced repeated accusations of failing to safeguard religious minorities in increasingly violent regions.
