Vinicius Jr Confirms Relationship with Virginia Fonseca After Separation

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has publicly confirmed his relationship with Virginia Fonseca, a Brazilian-American television host and entrepreneur, following a brief separation earlier in the month.

On October 28, Vinicius posted a photograph on Instagram showing himself embracing Fonseca in a room decorated with teddy bears, balloons and rose petals.

He captioned the post “V ❤️ V”, confirming that the pair are together again.

Several players reacted to the post. Neymar wrote, “Little boy is loving it,” while Rodrygo commented, “Big 7 in love.” Eduardo Camavinga added, “Things in loveeee.”

The post also received positive engagement from high-profile footballers including Ronaldo Nazário and Erling Haaland, who liked the upload.

Earlier in October 2025, Fonseca stated in an interview with journalist Leo Dias that her relationship with Vinicius had ended after she discovered his conversations with other women. In response, Vinicius issued a public apology, saying:

“Virginia is an incredible woman, an admirable mother, and someone for whom I feel enormous affection and respect. Although we weren’t officially a couple yet, there was a sincere connection. I was careless and I disappointed her. I want to apologise publicly, with an open heart… The idea now is to restart everything. Without lies, without fights, without masks. With love, affection and respect.”

Fonseca has visited Madrid three times this year to see the player prior to the official announcement of their relationship.

The announcement came days after Vinicius faced criticism for his conduct during Real Madrid’s 2–1 win against FC Barcelona in El Clásico on October 26.

He reacted angrily after being substituted in the 72nd minute by coach Xabi Alonso, and was caught on broadcast cameras saying: “Always me! I’m leaving the team! It’s better if I leave.”

His behaviour attracted public criticism. Former Uruguay defender Diego Lugano described Vinicius’ actions as “a disgrace” and said his reputation at Real Madrid may decline if such incidents continue. Former Real Madrid and Liverpool midfielder Steve McManaman also commented, stating:

“It’s not about you, it’s about the team. It’s about the collective and winning. We shouldn’t be talking about a substitution after 75 minutes.”

Currently, Real Madrid is five points clear at the top of La Liga following the victory over Barcelona. Despite the positive results, Vinicius’ attitude during substitutions has become a talking point among analysts and former players.
