Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has expressed frustration over his limited authority in tackling banditry.
“I swear to God, from my phone, I can see whenever bandits enter Zamfara. But I have no authority to order the soldiers to attack them, except when instructions come from above,” he said.
In a video obtained by The News Chronicle on Wednesday, the governor added that he sometimes breaks down in tears when security agencies fail to act despite his calls for help, stressing that soldiers can only move when directed by higher authorities.
