JAMB Candidates Die in Crash, 27 Impersonators Arrested, 4 Centres Closed

—

A tragic accident happened early Saturday morning, April 26, 2025, on the Oyo-Ogbomoso road in Oyo State.

Several students who were traveling to sit for their JAMB exams in Ogbomoso lost their lives.

Eyewitnesses said the commercial vehicle carrying the students suffered brake failure, leading to the crash.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State, Adewale Osifeso, has not yet responded to calls and messages to confirm the full details.

Meanwhile, JAMB announced that 27 people have been arrested for impersonation during the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

These suspects have been handed over to the police for quick prosecution.

JAMB warned that it will not tolerate cheating or any form of malpractice during the exams.

In another update, JAMB has delisted four Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for failing to meet the required technical and ethical standards.

The centres are Adventure Associate in Kano State, Saadatu Rimi College of Education in Kano State, and Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd Centres 1 and 2 in Tambuwal, Sokoto State.

Candidates who were assigned to these centres are advised to urgently reprint their examination slips to find out their new centres and dates.

JAMB said no excuses will be accepted from candidates who fail to do so.

As of Friday, April 25, 2025, more than 900,000 candidates out of the 2,083,600 registered had successfully completed the UTME.

JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said the board is working hard to make sure the exams go smoothly and fairly across the country.
