Norwegian forward Erling Haaland has extended his contract by nine and a half years with Manchester City, the club has confirmed.
The deal means that the 24-year-old will remain at the club until 2034.
Erling, whose deal was originally set to expire in June 2027, joined Manchester City in 2022 from Borussia Dortmund, helping the team win the historic treble and two consecutive Premier League titles.
He won the Golden Boot back-to-back in his first two seasons, smashing the record for the most goals scored in a single season by a player in the league.
Following a €60 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, the prolific forward has scored a staggering 111 goals in 126 games and has lifted two English top-flight titles, an FA Cup, the Champions League, and a Super Cup.
In the wake of his contract renewal, Haaland expressed his happiness with the club and reflected on his illustrious two and a half years:
“It has been amazing, and it’s been like a dream these past two and a half years, but I’m really looking forward to what’s next and to the future,” Haaland said.
“I’m going to stay for a long time, so now I can fully focus on getting better because I know I’m going to be here for such a long time.
“So, the full focus is on performing, improving, and giving all the fans what they want.”
