Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has made it clear that he wants no part in the ongoing drama between Burna Boy and Speed Darlington.
The feud began when Speed Darlington accused Burna Boy of having an improper relationship with American music mogul Diddy to secure a Grammy.
This allegation led to Speed Darlington’s recent arrest, stirring even more controversy.
During a live session on Instagram, Seun Kuti addressed fans who tried to drag him into the saga. The singer stated that his connection with Burna Boy is limited, even though he once received a diamond gift from the Grammy-winning artist.
“Just because Burna Boy gave me a diamond doesn’t mean I’m his personal adviser,” Seun said.
He went on to shed light on Diddy’s role in Speed Darlington’s rise to fame. According to Seun, the same Diddy being criticized was instrumental in boosting Speed Darlington’s career by reposting his song Bangdadang.
“I’ve made many songs, but Diddy never posted any of them,” Seun remarked. “Yet, he shared Speed Darlington’s Bangdadang, and that’s how it became popular. So don’t involve me in their case.”
Seun Kuti’s response makes it clear he’s staying out of the Burna Boy and Speed Darlington drama, focusing instead on his own musical journey.
