Cargo Plane Crash-Lands at Abuja Airport, No Casualties Reported

—

An Allied Air cargo plane, with registration number 5N-JRT, crash-landed at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Wednesday morning after one of its landing gears failed.

The incident occurred around 10:05 a.m. and involved an E-Cargo aircraft with six crew members onboard.

The crew was quickly evacuated and taken to the 063 Nigerian Air Force medical unit for health evaluations.

Emergency responders moved swiftly to secure the scene, with the area now under the supervision of the Military Airport Commandant and other agencies.

As a result, the airport’s runway has been temporarily closed, causing significant delays for both incoming and outgoing flights.

Passengers and airlines have been advised to prepare for disruptions until operations are fully restored.

Efforts are ongoing to remove the damaged aircraft and inspect the runway for any damage.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and airport authorities are working to resume normal activities as soon as possible.

Further updates will be provided as investigations into the incident continue.
