NDE Launches Initiative to Register Over 3,000 Unemployed Graduates in Borno State

—

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has officially begun the registration process for 3,154 unemployed graduates across the 27 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Borno State.

This initiative is part of a broader commitment to job creation in Nigeria, aligned with the goals of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has prioritized employment generation to bolster economic growth. the federal administration’s target is to create a total of 93,731 jobs across the nation.

In a public statement on Sunday, Mohammed Gaji Galadima, the NDE coordinator for Borno State, outlined the objectives and benefits of the program.

According to Galadima, the project aims to equip participants with a range of skills across over 30 different fields, including vocational training, agricultural practices, and other entrepreneurial ventures.

This approach is expected to open diverse opportunities for young job seekers who have struggled to secure employment.

The training provided by NDE will focus on practical and market-relevant skills to enhance participants’ job prospects.

Additionally, to help participants set up and sustain their own businesses, they will be provided with start-up capital, essential working tools, and equipment.

Galadima expressed optimism that this initiative would bring relief to many unemployed and unskilled individuals, especially those who suffered losses from recent flooding that devastated farmlands and businesses in Borno State.

He acknowledged the significant challenges faced by the region, which has not only struggled with high unemployment rates but has also had to contend with natural disasters and instability in recent years.

A key feature of the program, as Galadima noted, is its focus on connecting participants with financial institutions that offer credit.

This partnership is intended to facilitate access to loans for starting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), thereby boosting local economic activity and empowering the graduates to become self-reliant.

He encouraged eligible individuals who are interested in the program to register online through the NDE website or to visit the Borno State NDE office for assistance.
